A Warm Timber Look, Delivered Through Aluminium
A defining feature of the lobby is the series of timber-look screens that introduce texture, rhythm, and softness to the space. The Northern Spotted Gum Wood Finish Aluminium Click-on Screens deliver the appearance of natural timber with a consistent grain and colour tone across every length.
This level of consistency was key to the design intent. Unlike natural timber, where variation can be difficult to control at scale, the Wood Finish Aluminium ensures a uniform, refined outcome that aligns with the sophistication of the surrounding architecture.
Why Aluminium Was Chosen
Beyond aesthetics, aluminium played a critical role in the buildability of the feature screens.
-
Lightweight construction reduced load on the support system
-
Durable, low-maintenance surface suited to commercial interiors
-
Ability to achieve a clean, seamless finish
The result is a timber aesthetic without the compromises often associated with natural materials in high-use environments.
Sliding Timber Screens Designed for Flexibility
The screens are mounted to a sliding track system, allowing sections to move while maintaining a clean, continuous frontage. This introduces a level of flexibility to the space, supporting functional access behind the screens.
Where the screens do not extend the full length of the wall, a carefully integrated pivot door enables the panels to slide beyond their fixed position. This detail ensures the system remains fully operable without disrupting the visual consistency of the installation.
Functional Design That Supports Maintenance
While visually minimal, the sliding and pivoting system plays an important role behind the scenes.
-
Provides access behind the screens for cleaning and maintenance
-
Allows panels to move freely along the track
-
Maintains a streamlined appearance when closed
It’s a considered solution that supports the day-to-day operation of the space without interrupting the overall design. Our systems are also designed disassembly, meaning a batten can easily be removed if it becomes damaged or if access is required behind it.
A High-End Office Lobby Designed for Performance
This lobby demonstrates how material selection and detailing can elevate a workplace environment. The result is a refined entry experience that feels warm, controlled, and highly resolved, supporting both the architectural vision and the operational demands of a modern London office.
