Aluminium Battens

Aluminium battens are a durable alternative, and are often chosen for their moisture resistance and superior fire performance.

In some projects, designers choose to mix aluminium and timber ceiling battens within the same design. This approach can help define zones within large, open-plan spaces while maintaining visual continuity.

From there, we support with documentation and coordination. You’ll receive samples, specifications and technical guidance from our team to ensure the materials chosen are aesthetically pleasing, compliant and compatible with lighting and other services.

Sculptform’s support continues through to installation, where we help to ensure the finished timber batten ceiling matches the initial design vision.

Acoustic Performance

 Timber batten ceilings can significantly improve acoustic comfort when paired with acoustic backing materials. During installation, a textile-backed acoustic layer is positioned behind the battens to absorb sound as it passes through gaps between profiles.

It’s an effective way to manage reverberation and improve speech clarity while still maintaining the visual warmth of timber.
