We’re excited to introduce you to our latest timber range, Australian Ash, an attractive selection of either Vic Ash or Southern Ash timber species. This selection of timeless Australian hardwoods is expected to become popular with many.

Why the Change?

Due to the volatility of Vic Ash supply, we have been on the search for other viable species alternatives to help meet your design requirements. By selecting these two species as part of Australian Ash, you receive a more abundant supply and the timber’s aesthetic values for your timber feature wall or timber screen.

Southern Ash is grown in the same region in Victoria as Vic Ash and has a very similar grain structure and colour tones to Vic Ash.

Images below are indicative only. As timber is a natural product, colour variation occurs. Please order a sample to confirm species selection.

Trade Names

It is quite common to offer two or more species and label them under a trade name, such as Australian Ash. Many well-known timbers like Blackbutt and Tasmanian Oak are trade names used to combine multiple timber species. This is partly due to the similarity in many types of timber and how it makes sense to combine these to meet the high demand for timber products. Utilising timber species that are very close in appearance is a standard practice used by timber suppliers worldwide. Download our data sheet below for more information.

Specifying Australian Ash

Just before Sculptform submits the sign-off sample, we look at each case individually and decide if it is going to be supplied as Vic Ash or Southern Ash based on what is available at the time and the client’s design intent.
