EastCo is the new home for the Victorian Government’s Department of Transport. Designed by Peckvonhartel, the 13,000m2 workplace and Customer Service Centre signals a new benchmark for public sector workplace design.

Purposefulness and simplicity
The new design was driven by the desire to facilitate the department’s transition to a hybrid work style, transforming the workspace into a flexible and adaptable setting. Each employee has the freedom to choose their work environment, and it offers a comprehensive list of facilities made to support the individuals daily needs.

Steam bending timber battens
Throughout the foyer, our curved Click-on Battens feature as a transition from the ceiling of the floor below. Crafted from White Oak, the timber is permeable and able to be curved to hug the interior.
Our state-of-the-art steam bending technologies allow us to deliver the most precise and accurate curved timber products available anywhere on the market in Australia and beyond. We have finessed our methods so that we can provide a simultaneously high-level of quality and output to achieve what is required for large scale projects.
Pattered timber walls
The interior of the foyer also creates pattern and interest on walls. Our Click-on Battens are spaced equally apart amongst other lengths of timber, with black acoustic backing behind. This is part of one of our signature looks, and offers acoustic qualities as well as aesthetic value to a space.
