Revolutionising Compliance in Facade Design and Construction.

Sustainable building practices and regulatory compliance are paramount in the construction landscape. With advancements to enhance thermal performance, mitigate condensation risks and reduce water leaks, the industry is ripe for innovative solutions that not only meet, but exceed these evolving standards.

Introducing Velo Facades, a high-performance envelope solution featuring Sculptform’s signature concealed fixing aluminium rainscreen cladding.

Partnered with the best in Facade Design

Collaborating with experts in the industry, Velo seamlessly integrates external insulation from ROCKWOOL and a weather resistive membrane from Pro Clima in one easy to specify compliant solution.

A testament to both form and function, this sleek, modern façade not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of any building structure but also serves as a durable, protective shield against the elements. What truly sets Velo apart is Sculptform’s commitment to facade performance and compliance.

In anticipation of the NCC 2025 updates, Velo has been meticulously designed to meet and exceed regulatory requirements, particularly in three critical areas:

  1. Thermal Efficiency – with an increased emphasis on energy efficiency, Velo Facades integrates external insulation from ROCKWOOL to optimise thermal performance. By minimising heat loss through thermal bridges and reducing energy consumption, Velo not only enhances occupant comfort but also contributes to a more sustainable built environment.
  2. Condensation Risk Mitigation – the risk of condensation can pose significant challenges to building durability and occupant health. Velo addresses these concerns by incorporating advanced solutions from Pro Clima, ensuring effective moisture control, and minimising the likelihood of condensation-related issues which can prove costly otherwise.
  3. Leak reduction – water leaks also lead to costly damage and compromise the structural integrity of a building. Proactive measures have been implemented for Velo to minimise the incidence of water ingress, safeguarding the longevity of the structure.

By providing a single, compliant solution that seamlessly integrates the facade components required, Velo streamlines the design and construction process, saving you both time and resources.

A Systemised and Proprietry Click-on Solution

Here is a brief animation demonstrating the construction process of the Velo Facades system.

The sequence begins with the installation of membranes onto the structure, followed by track and trim brackets, Rockwool insulation, and Velo Facades Mounting Tracks with a T-bolt connection. Finally, the cladding panels simply snap into place using our patented clip connection. The modularity of the system and its seamless assembly are crucial features. We’ve thoroughly integrated and tested the system to ensure compatibility with other elements like windows.

Our product is Designed for Disassembly: panels can be easily removed and reinstalled if damaged or reused after the design life of the coatings.

The Compliance Package

This will include everything that you need so your specification will glide smoothly through the certification process. Assets will include the following:

  • Code Mark (AU and NZ) – Coming Soon
  • Building Code Compliance Path Report (NZ)
  • Wind load Span Charts
  • NCC F1P3 Weather Proofing Report (AS 4284 test)
  • AS 4040.2 Wind Report
  • Fire Compliance Reports (FRL, BAL, Combustibility, etc)
  • Product Technical Datasheets

The Rainscreen Facade System

A rainscreen façade comprises three key elements: a weather-resistant membrane, an open-air cavity, and external rainscreen cladding. These layers function together to protect the building effectively.

  1. External Cladding: This layer deflects 99% of the water, although some water may penetrate under extreme conditions. The open joint system allows quick drainage.
  2. Open-Air Cavity: This cavity ensures any remaining moisture evaporates quickly due to airflow that enters from the bottom, passes through the cladding joints, and exits at the top.
  3. Weather-Resistant Membrane: Positioned behind the cavity, this membrane provides an additional layer of protection.

Benefits of a rainscreen façade include:

  • High Drying Potential: The system allows rapid drying of any moisture that penetrates.
  • Durability: There are no exposed elements that degrade over time, unlike sealed face facades that rely on sealants.
  • Thermal Efficiency: The system permits airflow, keeping the structure cool, and supports continuous cavity insulation, which eliminates thermal bridges.
  • Condensation Management: The façade allows the building to breathe, moving dew points outside the membrane and drying condensation quickly.
