The Plenary Group office fit-out in Melbourne’s Rialto Tower creates a warm, engaging space by using Sculptform’s Click-on Battens in some creative ways. Designed by Woods Bagot Melbourne, the office incorporates mirrors into the batten walls, creating a high-class yet relaxed aesthetic.

Feels like home
The client experience was paramount in the design of the office fit-out for Plenary Group, which specialise in public infrastructure. The office creates a relaxed and personal atmosphere, allowing clients to have meetings in both formal meeting rooms, and smaller areas designed for more informal chats or even just taking in the view. The furnishings and overall design give the impression of a high-class residence, rather than a workplace, which allows Plenary Group to use the office as an entertainment space for client functions.
Combining linear textures
Sculptform’s Click-on Battens are used extensively throughout the project, on the ceiling and walls. In the reception area in particular, the White Oak timber battens on the wall and the Vic Ash battens on the ceiling compliment each other, creating consistent linear textures. This look is easily achieved using Click-on Battens and is growing in popularity.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall
One of the most creative features of the Plenary Group project is the use of mirrors between the wall battens. Strips of mirror were meticulously installed between the 32x42mm White Oak battens, creating a unique look in the reception area. Alternating depth battens were placed along the bottom, adding another layer to this incredible feature wall.
